North Austin Primary Bath
Five years after moving to Texas during COVID, these homeowners decided it was time to make their house their own. The square footage lent itself to a large format floor tile, which was carried up the walls of the shower. The shower pony wall was removed, adding space and allowing the mosaic shower tile floor and soap niche to be seen through the glass walls. A modern, double slipper tub replaced the original built-in as the room’s focal point, framed by the new privacy glass in the windows, a rattan chandelier, and floor-mounted tub filler. For additional storage, medicine cabinets were installed above the new freestanding vanities between black and gold sconces, and floating shelves were installed in the new toilet room. Whether bathed in natural light from the windows or with the warm glow of the sconces and chandelier, this primary bath feels like an escape.
